Future Leaders was the push I needed
I am Shahin — I am a recruitment specialist, a musician, an entrepreneur, and a community builder for youth. I was a participant in Future Leaders Oslo in the 18/19 program, and the impact that had on my life can not be described well enough with words alone… they come short. However, to try to share some thoughts with you who are considering applying for the program this year.
Future Leaders give you the time and space to work on yourself — but not through worthless activities; but with activities, challenges and tasks that are well and carefully thought through. Tasks that make you reflect deeply on your life — by asking the right questions. (I realize as I am writing that by trying to describe what FL is, I am by this sentence pointing out a rather small detail, and fail to praise FL for what it truly is…)
While it might be a struggle to find people with the common interest of self-development and truly caring for the world and its illnesses — at FL you are placed in, and connect with, a WHOLE BUNCH of beautiful souls who are all looking to do the same; develop themselves to become a better version of themselves, and more importantly, people who are looking to use their growth and skills for the betterment of something that will be of benefit for humankind and our world(whether it’s technology, environment, education etc.).
By the way, when mentioning “education”, it’s absolutely crazy to think that our educational system is given 12–13 years with our children and youth to “teach what they think will prepare them best of life”, and FL is not a part of that education… anyway, no description of what FL is does it justice. As cheesy as it sounds: IT HAS TO BE EXPERIENCED.
For me, Future Leaders was the push I needed to become the leader of my own life. The push I needed to realize that no one will come and“solve my problems”, and that I am the only one responsible for my own mental, physical and spiritual health. It’s such an amazing feeling; to know before each FL-gathering that “after this weekend, I will come out on the other side with a better sense of in what fields of activity I thrive, where I get energy, who gives me energy, what my strengths are, and what my goals are; and whether or not my actions are taking me closer or further away from those goals”.
I recommend Future Leaders to every single one who is serious about their invaluable time and who believe that “no one cares anymore”… at FL you will see, you are not alone; we there are several others in the same boat, who have a longing for making the world a more beautiful, including, thriving and loving place to exist.
How I will lead myself going forward and use my skills and potential:
- I will be working on further developing my skills as a Recruitment Specialist for College Scholarships USA (I am incredibly loyal to the company because of my extremely virtuous bosses and the value-driven way they run the business), so I owe them (and myself) to become the best version of myself as an employee.
-I’m further working to slowly develop my artist career, and very soon release my second official single which will be about the condition of our world today, and the “fight” (non-violent) I am gearing up for towards the destructive forces that dominate our existence today.
-I am working on further nurturing our “Garden of Well-Being” (also called: the relationship with my loved one).
-Working harder and more on bringing the vision of World Unity to the hearts of mankind.
-And finally; I will be a Challenger at Future Leaders 2020/2021, which I am extremely excited about — WOOOOP!!!
I truly hope to meet many of you in the coming year during the program! If you haven't applied already, please check the program out here, and apply TODAY!
